These blue skies started off the day, and it ended in pouring rain. Luckily I made the most of the dry times.
Found this and other Hyacinths in the garden bed. Forgot they were there, so it was a lovely surprise.
More in pots coming along too. The little flower is one of my many violets. I just put it in the pot to photograph, as they are so close to the ground, I find them hard to photograph
My Hippi is still slowly laughing away...
I think it will be open next week if we have some good weather days.
I've had these fabrics for awhile now, and have been thinking about what type of quilt I would make with them.
I've been looking at a lot of half square triangle quilts, and finally decided on this after seeing some similar on Pinterest.
Now I've put all the "little" pieces together, I'm going to add some bigger pieces. I have a new friend beside my machine. A purchase from the recent Geoff's Shed Craft Fair!
It's a mini iron that sits by my machine, hot ready to press all my little seams without a trip over to the iron! Works beautifully!
This is my Eldest Son's Birthday Blossom (Prunis Bleriana) At our old house it was always out on his birthday, so I planted one in our new house, and it's just a bit after his birthday, but not by much. He turned 18 last Thursday, and this morning I found this on his tree. My daughters Birthday Blossom is Prunis Elvins. I love this tree so much that I have 2 in the garden. It will flower around September 16, when she turns 16!
Beautiful white jonquils in my front garden
. . . and Snowdrops
and my Happy Wanderer - it is a white one and just looks like snow, climbing up the wall at the front of my house.
You can imagine by these photos that my garden smells delicious at the moment.
This Hippiastrum is "splitting it's sides laughing" or so my mum says. It will burst open any day now.
Beautiful Japonica in full bloom
. . . and these little friends of mine are getting busy
Progress is happening on the Backpack, but I'm up to a hard bit, so I'm on a bit of a go slow.
So I swapped projects and made another little bag, and just swapped the handles
It's my "No eye dear" bag!
Miss Flowergarden tells me that the 19th September is "Talk like a Pirate Day" This scar just fits in nicely. Perhaps an eye patch will dress it up a bit.
A black eye later and the removal of some skin cancer, has left me with the perfect trimmings for Talk Like A Pirate Day, which is to raise money for Cancer Very Fitting
After a trip to the Craft Fair last Saturday, I am trying some new patterns. This is going to be a Back Pack for my soon to turn 16 year old daughter AKA Miss Flowergarden
oooh, sorry, this one's a bit fuzzy . . . pattern pieces for:
Happy with the outcome, but not 100%. I didn't quite have enough interfacing and was too impatient!!
Still going with the Plus's, but boy, it's slow going and addles my mind following the pattern. I'm much more speedy with the blue block above that are freestyle!
. . . and a little bit of crotchet for good measure.
These cold wintery days, are good for my sewing progress!
