Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen

A special day for my daughter who turns Sweet Sixteen today.

Miss Flowergarden understands her mother when she says:
"the paint is still wet"

I've been making this backpack for her, and of course left the last finishing touches until the last minute!!!

When I realised I needed 8 grommets instead of 4!

Thanks to my favourite Pixie in Shining Armour . . . I found 4 more, but not quite in time to finish.  I have an understanding daughter who loved it anyway.

I was just slightly busy yesterday at Crafty Hijinks, thanks to these two lovelies!

. . . and thanks to Lizzy and Leanne for a few camera tips too.

Sore Legs!

A Sunday afternoon/day! I dropped Miss Flowergarden to work at 10.30am

Came home and straight into the garden!

Work Work Work
Love Love Love

Thought I'd better check the time as I had to pick her up at 5pm

It was 4.30

No wonder my legs were sore!

Think I might have a shower now and get my PJ's on!

Some inside playtime now I think . . .

Just so hard to beat outside time at the moment!

Back to school tomorrow, but only 2 weeks until HOLIDAYS!

Ballarat Botanical Gardens

I went for an official tour of the Botanical Gardens
for the first day of Spring in Ballarat.

There is a whole avenue of Prime Minister Busts, dating back to federation.

So many bulbs and plantings.

The Camelia Section was AMAZING . . .

I'm just moving into my Camelia Stage!

Old old trees - such forsight from the pioneers of our town.

. . . and this is one of my bulbs - Rip Van Winkle

. . . a different type of daffodil.

A beautiful bag from a friend
from across the seas -

. . . and a huge THANK YOU to Mr Fothergill - He must know that I am one of those in charge of our school gardens.  We have recently put up a hot house in the school grounds, so these seeds will be just the thing for the children to plant, watch and grow.

My tulips at home are just starting to show magnificent colour.  The photo doesn't really capture the rich colours.
